How to Work in the UK Without a Work Visa
There is a need to fill large numbers of visas for non-immigrant workers coming to the United Kingdom. The number of such skilled workers is expected to grow significantly in future as the United Kingdom undergoes economic change. The United Kingdom government understands that labor demand is oversubcribed; hence, it is high unlikely that any occupation will fill the demands of the existing resident labor market.
The existing resident labor market test calls for the employer to advertise the available job aggressively and get no suitable candidates who already hold the needed permission to work in UK. If no suitable candidate is found, it calls for an advanced search by visiting the labor market offices and requesting an application form for a non-immigrant worker visa. A worker visa is different from a vacation visa or a work permit; the latter is not required by the UK immigration authorities if the worker is not planning to stay permanently in the country. An immigrant visa is required if the worker is traveling to the country on business or if his/her intention is to stay for a longer period of time. If the intention is to live permanently in UK, a work visa will be required.
There are three main types of work visa schemes in UK; the Skilled Worker Visa, the Business visa and the Tier 2 National Insurance contributions Benefit visa. The Skilled Worker visa is one of the best options if you are looking forward to migrate to the country on a long term basis. Skilled workers are those who have gained employment skills and who have passed the skilled workers visa test. This visa is often good option for employers who have a particular job requirement for the coming year. It can also be beneficial for students who are not eligible for the student visa and who want to work in UK while still completing their education.
The third type of scheme for immigration is the Business visa. It allows the investors to bring in skilled workers or technicians to the country on a long term basis. The criteria of this visa differs from Skilled Worker visa in that the criteria requires proof that the individual has an income which exceeds the requirement for the unemployment benefits in UK. To qualify for this visa you must have a job offer which has been accepted by at least five UK companies for at least two years. For this to be valid, the person needs to have a degree or a qualification which could be of five years duration. The job offer should have been valid for at least five years when this visa was granted.
The last option which is available for a work visa is the tier two National Insurance contributions Benefit visa. This is a permanent visa, provided that you meet the expenditure requirement. You need to pass the three-tier test consisting of: a knowledge test, a work experience test and a social security test. Once you have passed these tests you will be eligible for a work visa.
The benefits of a permanent residence in UK include: the ability to work holiday in the country, the freedom to live and work in any country for five years without a need to obtain leave to enter and exit the country, and a British citizenship. However if you wish to bring your family to live in the country you need to apply for child care. The three-tier test and the social security test are the only eligibility requirements for working in the country under the UK work visa schemes for non EU families. If you are eligible for this scheme, you need to get your application approved as soon as possible as these schemes run out fast.
